Over the past month, I have been exercising a good bit. I am not too fond of riding my road bike outside when it is cold or raining, so I have started running. This is the 5th day in a row that I have run of some kind, and I am going to keep going.
Past 5 days - 12/26/2007 thru 12/30/2007
- Wednesday I ran/walk 4.5 miles on a treadmill.
- Thursday I played Ultimate Frisbee and covered 4.4 miles.
- Friday I ran/walk 2.2 miles on a treadmill.
- Saturday I tried to run 4.4 miles but only ran about 2 of it. But, I did run the first mile without stopping.
- Sunday I ran 1 mile non stop, which was my target.
I own a Garmin Forerunner 305 HRM/GPS watch, so I can track my mileage while running. I also have the footpod accessory so I can track my mileage on a treadmill or indoors.
My ultimate goal is to trade some body fat for muscle. I am not looking to drop much weight, as I currently weigh 177 lbs, have 17% body fat and I am 5'10", which by no means is overweight.
As for running, I would like to get to the point where I can run 4 to 5 miles non-stop and also be able to trail run that same distance. It should not take me too long to get to that point. Hopefully by the end of Jan '08. The when the spring comes or there is not snow on the ground, I would like to start trail running up in Pisgah NC.
